Awel Aman Tawe is looking to fill two posts:

An experienced and motivated Finance Manager. Part of this person’s responsibilities will be to support the growth of Egni Co-op by managing its finances. We are looking for a qualified or part qualified accountant, with an interest in the charity sector. It is a three-year contract with a salary of between £32-35k pro rata. We are happy to consider candidates who wish to work part time or full time, 3-5 days/week. The Job Description can be seen here.

The second post is for a Community Development Officer – Sustainable Transport Solutions to take forward a new area of work to support public access to low carbon transport (electric cars and bikes). You do not need to have experience of transport previously, but need to be systematic, enthusiastic and able to work at a community level. The right candidate will work closely with other transport providers in the region to ensure we complement existing services. The postholder will also take forward our involvement in an-Wales Lottery-funded project to establish electric car clubs in Wales which will be starting in September this year. This post has been funded by the Welsh Government through the Community Transport Association. It’s a full-time job with a salary between £23-30k. The Job Description can be seen here.

Awel Co-op

AAT works on a number of projects including renewable energy, sustainable transport, energy efficiency, arts and education. AAT has a growing team of 4 full time and 5 part time staff. We have won a number of awards for our work including UK Environmental Organisation of the Year in the 2019 Social Enterprise Awards. We have developed two co-operatives with over 1500 members, raising over £15m from community shares and bank finance to build them. AAT provides management and administration to both:

We also have an Education Officer, Jen James, who is working with schools with Egni solar panels to further reduce carbon emissions and engage young people in climate change action.

We work in partnership with Energy Sparks who have a great portal to measure school’s electricity, heating and solar generation – linked to a set of educational materials. Jen has developed a range of really exciting projects which the pupils have really enjoyed, including raps working with Mr Phormula –  This is Penyrheol Power!
